Partnering with Operation Warm to Deliver Coats to Kids in Local Communities

To celebrate Giving Tuesday, we continued our commitment to provide basic necessities for kids and families in our local communities with our holiday partner Operation Warm and our employees. On November 29th and 30th, we partnered with Operation Warm to host coat delivery events at Braeburn Junior school in Toronto and PS 116 William C. Hughley school in New York. With the help of our team of volunteers, we delivered over 1,000 coats to kids in local communities. 

With more than 60 employees from the Toronto and NYC area on hand to help distribute the winter coats, the events featured a DJ and treats for kids. We also partnered with Toronto Raptor, Scottie Barnes for a special appearance at the delivery event in Toronto. Students had the chance to meet, play basketball, and take pictures with Scottie in addition to leaving with a brand-new coat.

Customers can still get involved and support Operation Warm this holiday season in the following ways:  

  • Purchase a Giving Tag at Nordstrom stores in the US and Canada or at a Nordstrom Local store 
  • Add a donation to their online at checkout on Nordstrom.com 
  • Donate directly to  Operation Warm     
  • Schedule a $20 virtual Santa Chat to benefit Operation Warm and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Canada.
