Nordstrom Rack to Open at The Commons at Southtowne in Sandy, Utah

SEATTLE, July 23, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN), a leading fashion specialty retailer, announced plans to open a 35,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack at The Commons at Southtowne shopping center in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City. The new Nordstrom Rack will open in spring 2009.

The Commons at Southtowne is a new center located directly across Sandy's State Street from South Towne Center, a regional mall. Nordstrom Rack will be located in the north half of the center between Staples and DSW shoe store. Other tenants at The Commons at Southtowne include Bed Bath & Beyond, and ULTA.

Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offers savings of 30 to 70 percent on apparel and accessories for women, men and children, including one of the most extensive collections of name-brand shoes available. Nordstrom Rack merchandise is made up of products from Nordstrom full-line stores and the company's online store at Nordstrom.com, as well as special purchase items.

Nordstrom Rack at The Commons at Southtowne will be the second Rack location in the state; Nordstrom Rack Sugarhouse is currently located 15 miles away in Salt Lake City. The company also serves Salt Lake area customers with full-line stores at University Mall in Orem, Utah, and Fashion Place in Murray, Utah, which will relocate to a new store within the center in March 2009. Nordstrom also previously had a store at Crossroads Plaza in Salt Lake City, which is scheduled to relocate and open at City Creek Center in 2012.
