Nordstrom Rack to Open First Tampa, Florida Store

SEATTLE, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Seattle-based Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN), a leading fashion specialty retailer, announced it will open a 45,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack, a unit of the company's off-price retail division, in Tampa, Fla. in fall 2010. The new store will be located in the Walter's Crossing neighborhood at the intersection of Interstate Highway 275 and the Dale Mabry Highway next to Home Depot.

This will be the retailer's first Nordstrom Rack in Tampa and the fifth in the state. Currently, there is one Rack store in Florida at The Oasis at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, Fla. Nordstrom Rack is scheduled to open in Orlando on Nov. 6, 2009, and in Kendall, Fla. and Coral Gables, Fla. in spring 2010. The company also operates nine Nordstrom stores in Florida, including one in Tampa at International Plaza.

Nordstrom Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com at 50-60% off original Nordstrom prices. Nordstrom Rack also offers a wide selection of apparel, accessories and shoes from many of the brands carried in Nordstrom stores and purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack, with most at savings of 30-70% off.
